Always a Voice
Our Mission
OUR MISSION: The mission of Always a Voice is to provide support, encouragement, hope, information and resources for survivors of domestic & child abuse—of all forms. The fallout from abuse can be severely damaging and life-altering. It can often be difficult to know how to move forward, who to trust, how to find help, and more. It is our goal to help survivors embrace their worth as they heal and continue to find their voice, their path, their faith, their joy and their rebirth.
The Focus of Always a Voice is to advocate for survivors of abuse through: Awareness, Education, Support, Mentorship, Art, Music, understanding and Compassion.
Our Why
OUR WHY: Exposure to domestic violence, child abuse, physical and/or sexual assault and other forms of trauma are at an all-time high. Children and adults impacted by trauma struggle with managing school, maintaining jobs and housing; they suffer from relationship dysfunction, substance abuse and mental illness; and they are YOU AND ME – our children, our neighbors and our friends. We no longer have the luxury of deciding whether we should be "in the know" about these issues. Abuse cripples—physically, emotionally and spiritually. Abuse clouds a person's better judgement. Abuse is scary. Abuse fogs up the windows of clarity. We must take the time to care and be aware.
Your Story
YOUR STORY: When life hands you a plate you didn’t order, even the basic ins and outs of life can become a battle just to keep your head above water. Perhaps you can’t even remember what trust feels like. Perhaps your abuse happened decades ago—and yet you’ve noticed you’re getting more traumatized now than ever before. Questions are starting to bombard you. Why can’t I turn the corner? Why are the bad memories and triggers getting worse? With each survivor—no matter our story—there comes a time, a season, of awakening and realization. Inspite of this horrific upheaval, something wonderful is happening: You are confronting your pain! This is the first step towards healing!
